Scientist
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Eric Wong received his Master degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2000 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has over 20 years of hands-on experience in drug discovery including target identification, hit identification, and hit validation. After receiving his M.S. degree, he joined CeNeS Pharmaceutical, where he worked on production of nerve growth factors. In 2001, he joined Surface Logix, Inc, where he worked on several drug discovery programs including metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases. During his time at Surface Logix, he contributed to deliver three lead compounds from three different programs into clinical trials by generating key biochemical and cellular data essential for investigational New Drug submissions. In 2010, he joined Ensemble Therapeutics as a scientist where he was primary responsible for identification of molecular signaling pathways resulting from novel Ensemble macrocyclic molecules mediated Akt dephosphorylation. He also worked on projects for screening protease inhibitors from Ensemble macrocyclic molecule libraries. In 2012, he joined the newly formed Cystic Fibrosis Foundation CFF Lab as a research scientist. Currently, he is a scientist at the lab and working on project related to nonsense mutation involving identification of targets for pharmacological intervention.
