Hillary Valley (St. John), PhD is a Scientist III and Gene Editing team leader at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s CFFT lab. She completed her undergraduate education at St. Lawrence University where she received a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology (double major) in 2010. She completed her graduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a PhD in Biochemistry in 2015. While at UW, she was supervised by Professor J. Wesley Pike and focused her research efforts on epigenetics and transcriptional regulation by the vitamin D hormone in bone cells. She was a post-doctoral research scientist at Proteovista LLC prior to joining the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's CFFT lab in 2016. At CFF, she has used gene editing technologies to create model cell lines with specific CF patient mutations and investigate potential therapeutic strategies for CF.
