Hasan Halit Öz is an Associate Research Scientist in the laboratory of Dr. Emanuela Bruscia at the Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics. During his PhD at the Eberhardt-Karls University in Tuebingen (Germany) he started working in the field of cystic fibrosis, in more detail the dysbalanced immune response during pseudomonas aeruginosa infections, which led to a publication. Intrigued by his findings he pursued a career in CF immunology and joined the laboratory of Dr. Emanuela Bruscia for his postdoctoral studies. He was awarded the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellowship to investigate the role of macrophages during chronic inflammation. The resulting work is currently under revision in Cell Reports.
