Adult Pulmonary/Critical Care and Pediatric Pulmonary Fellow (2nd year)
Ohio State University and Nationwide Children's Hospital
My name is Michelle Gillespie, MD and I am in my second year of a combined adult pulmonary/critical care and pediatric pulmonary fellowship at the Ohio State University (OSU) and Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH). I grew up in Needham, MA. I went to William and Mary for college and to the University of Massachusettts for medical school. I then completed by Internal Medicine and Pediatric residency at OSU/NCH, including a year as chief resident from 2020-2021. My clinical and research interests are in chronic lung disease and transitions of care from pediatric to adult medicine, including pulmonary complications of sickle cell disease, cystic fibrosis, lung transplant, and rare lung diseases. I am also passionate about critical care medicine, medical education, and physician wellness. Outside of work, I enjoy playing soccer, running, baking, needlepointing, watching Disney movies, using tiny spoons to eat ice cream, reading, and supporting Boston sports teams - go Pats!
