Hoyeol Kim, PhD is a postdoctoral scientist in the Department of Medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He earned his B.S. (summa cum laude) and M.S. in Industrial Engineering at Dongguk University in 2009 and 2011, respectively, followed by his Ph.D. in Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering from the Advanced Manufacturing Lab at Texas Tech University in 2018. After working for 2 years at P&G, he pursued his postdoctoral studies at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in 2020 prior to joining Cedars Sinai in 2021. His multi-year experiences and expertise in 3D modeling and 3D printing technology gained during his PhD study have been further extended to the biomedical field. His research goal centers around the design and development of patient-derived human organs and microfluidic-based organ-on-a-chip to provide a valuable preclinical tool for pathophysiology studies as well as drug responses and efficacies in a highly personalized manner.
