Samya Nasr is Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonary Medicine, Department of Pediatrics,
University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Nasr graduated from Ain Shams
University, Cairo, Egypt. She completed residency in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Michigan,
Detroit, Michigan, USA, and completed fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at University of Michigan,
Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has been a member of the ATS since 1993. She has been a faculty member
of Methods in Epidemiologic Clinical and Operations Research (MECOR)” Indonesia, the Chair of the
Council Chapter Representative and currently the incoming Chair of the ATS International Health
Committee. She is an international advisor for the Middle East Cystic Fibrosis Association and has been
collaborating with Marmara University CF center and the universities in Egypt to improve their CF care.
Currently, she is the Cystic Fibrosis Center Director since 1993, and Certified Clinical Investigator. She
has been the Michigan CF NBS Coordinator since the start of the CF NBS in 2007. She has been
conducting clinical research since 1990. She has been funded by the CF Foundation, NIH and
Biomedical industry. She has been publishing widely in the areas of Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiolitis and
Asthma. She has been presenting her work nationally and internationally over the years.
