Katie Howe was raised in Michigan and received her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Michigan State University in 2009. While attending Michigan State University, Katie volunteered as a student research assistant with the Department of Physiology's Cystic Fibrosis Research Team. After graduating from Michigan State University, Katie moved to Charleston, South Carolina where she worked as a Nutrition Education Specialist for South Carolina's Department of Health and Environmental Control Women, Infants, and Children supplemental program. Katie then went on to receive her Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. After graduate school Katie became the Health Educator at the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, South Carolina and was also adjunct faculty for USC Upstate's nursing school during this time. Katie then went on to work for the University of Michigan's Nursing School prior to moving to Chapel Hill, NC and becoming the Research and Administrative Coordinator at the University of North Carolina's Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center. She has since become the Clinical Research Lead for the Baylor College of Medicine’s CF Research Team. Katie is an avid runner and enjoys gardening and cooking. Katie's passion for CF research stems from a family history of Cystic Fibrosis.
