Marie Ascher is the Lillian Hetrick Huber Endowed Director of the Health Sciences Library at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. She is a graduate of the Drexel University College of Information Studies where she got an MS in Library and Information Science and Hunter College, CUNY School of Public Health, where she received an MPH in Urban Public Health with a specialization in Community Health Education. She has worked as a librarian at Hunter College, The New York Academy of Medicine, and at New York Medical College since 2001, where she began as Head of Reference and was promoted eventually to Director. Professionally Marie has a specific interest in clinical epidemiology and critical appraisal of the health sciences research, teaching evidence based medicine to medical students and residents, information-seeking behaviors of health professionals and patients related to self-efficacy, in the topical areas of vaccine hesitancy and the effects of intermittent fasting, and in the professional development of librarians.
