As Special Assistant to the Chief Health Data Standards Officer at the National Library of Medicine (NLM), Liz supports the Chief Health Data Standards Officer in coordinating NLM resources in support of the advancement in exchange, integration, sharing and retrieval of electronic health information.
Her interests include large healthcare databases, the FHIR® interoperability standard and API, NIH Common Data Elements, and the vocabularies specific to clinical care (e.g. LOINC, SNOMED CT, and RxNorm).
Ms. Amos graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Tulsa and a Master’s of Library Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma. Her professional career began as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, supervising and managing the William E. Brock Memorial Veterinary Medicine Library. In 2015, she joined the NLM as a librarian, supporting the National Information Center on Health Services Research and Health Care Technologies in with several projects related to common data elements, data sharing, electronic health records and public health.
