Allison Cruise, MLIS, is a second year National Library of Medicine Associate Fellow currently working at The University of New Mexico's Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center. Allison is passionate about discovering ways that health sciences libraries can promote health and information equity through service, space, and scholarship.
Before becoming an Associate Fellow, Allison worked as a Research Associate at the nonprofit North Carolina Biotechnology Center. As a member of the Life Sciences Intelligence team, she supported life sciences businesses throughout the state of North Carolina by maintaining the comprehensive NCBiotech company directory. She also acted as an embedded librarian, providing literature searches and document delivery for over 70 employees.
Allison graduated with her MLIS from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in December 2019. She was inspired to seek her degree after working as a library assistant in the Gibsonville Public Library. She previously received her bachelor's in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013.
