Cristina Ashby is head of researcher experience at CABI. She is product owner of CAB Direct, CABI’s proprietary database platform, which she has helped to develop and evolve through several versions since joining CABI in 2000. Feedback from users of CAB Direct has been formative in enabling CABI to understand the needs of researchers around search in evidence synthesis which has led to CABI’s support for the development of searchRxiv.com in the last 12 months. Prior to joining CABI Cristina has held positions as a consultant for the Consortium of European Research Libraries and as product development director for Research Publications/Primary Source Media where she developed some of the first electronic resources of large databases and collections, back in the 1990s even before the age of the Internet.
