Blacksburg, Virginia
Cozette has been developing and leading the Evidence Synthesis Services (ESS) at the University Libraries at Virginia Tech since August 2019. She has a MS in Sociology and a background in business management and sales. Before joining the library community, she was a researcher with the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) studying impaired driving as a means to inform policy. While at VTTI, she led a State of Knowledge update on drug impaired driving research that was framed by systematic review methodology.
In her current role, she provides recurring and by-request instruction related to evidence synthesis methodologies across disciplines, acts as a methodological expert on several research teams, a mentor on student-led reviews, and provides ad hoc consultations. Additionally, she led the development of a 5-year strategic plan for the ESS, implemented in January 2021. Cozette is also a PhD candidate in Public Administration and Public Affairs exploring evidence synthesis in policy-making.
