Deedra J. Walton, MLS, AHIP-D, is Head of Electronic Resources at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine Harriet F.Ginsburg Health Sciences Library in Orlando Florida. She is a UCF College of Medicine founding faculty member and has been in her job since 2009. She created the electronic resources collection for the college's born-digital health sciences library. Her ongoing responsibilities include the electronic resources budget, collection development, vendor negotiations, licensing, and managing electronic resources. Deedra is a member of the Florida Collaboration of Academic Libraries of Medicine (FCALM) and serves FCALM by negotiating group subscriptions on behalf of the eight-member libraries.
Deedra has an MLS from Texas Woman’s University. She is a member of the Medical Library Association, Southern Chapter/Medical Library Association, the Florida Health Sciences Library Association, and a distinguished member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals.
