Dr. Katie Foster received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Creighton University and then pursued a two-year pharmacy administrative residency with a concurrent Masters in Hospital Pharmacy from Kansas University. Dr. Foster worked at Stormont Vail Health for 23 years as the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and PGY1 Residency Program Director. Dr. Foster currently is working at the VA Eastern Kansas Health System as an Associate Chief, Clinical Pharmacy Services and PGY1 Residency Program Director.
Dr. Foster is actively involved with governmental affairs initiatives set forth by the Kansas Board of Pharmacy, Kansas Council of Health-System Pharmacy (KCHP), Kansas Pharmacist Association and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) since 2014. She helped developed the Kansas Pharmacists Collaborative Practice regulation, the naloxone regulation, and the statewide vaccine protocol. Dr. Foster was appointed by the Kansas Governor to be one of the first Kansas Collaborative Practice taskforce committee members and as a Kansas Drug Utilization Review Board member.
Dr. Foster has received several awards throughout the years which includes University of Kansas School of Pharmacy Preceptor of the Year, the first Society of Critical Care Medicine Fellow in Kansas, KCHP Pharmacist of the Year, Kansas Pharmacist Association Board of Directors award, Bill Bays award, Fellow of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists and a Fellow of the Kansas Council of Health Systems Pharmacy.
