Dr. Alex Mills (he/him/his) is a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist and credentialed HIV Pharmacist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Purdue University in 2017, completed a PGY1 community-based residency with Walgreens and Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana, followed by a PGY2 specializing in ambulatory care with The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, in which he is now faculty. Alongside his faculty and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Mills serves as director of clinical operations for the University of Mississippi Medical Center's "TEAM" clinic, which provides primary and multidisciplinary gender-affirming care to persons of the LGBTQ+ community. He also is co-director of the Center for Gender and Sexual Minority Health for the University of Mississippi Medical Center, which serves to improve the clinical care, health education, and research that enhances the lives of sexual and gender minorities. Dr. Mills focuses his teaching on all things related to the care of sexual and gender minorities across the pharmacy didactic curriculum. Lastly, he is the practice officer for @RxSHARE, or Pharmacists for Sexual and Gender Health Advocacy, Reform, and Equity, an international collective on Twitter with a mission To champion person-centered care for gender and sexually diverse individuals and eradicate the marginalization of LGBTQIA+ identity in the pharmacy profession.
