Dr Moninne Howlett is the Chief Pharmacy Information Officer for Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) where she is currently leading on the digital transformation of medication management for Ireland’s new national children’s hospital. As a Fulbright 2022-2023 TechImpact Scholarship recipient, she will be travelling to the US in late 2022 for two months and partnering with Dr David Aquero, Director of Medication Systems & Informatics in St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was awarded a PhD in 2019 for her research on the impact of health information technology on medication errors in paediatric intensive care and continues to supervise and collaborate on pharmacy-led research in the areas of pharmacy informatics, paediatric clinical pharmacy and medication adherence. She is senior honorary clinical lecturer with the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Moninne is also project lead on the Irish National Paediatric and Neonatal Smart-Pump and Standard Concentration Infusion project driving the standardisation of infusion practices across acute hospital services in Ireland.
