Dr. Karen W. Babb obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University. After completing a pharmacy practice residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, she accepted a clinical pharmacy specialist position with CHI Memorial in Chattanooga, TN. In 2011, she implemented the PGY1 residency program at CHI Memorial where she still serves as Residency Program Director. Dr. Babb is a preceptor for The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy, Mercer University College of Pharmacy, and the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy at East Tennessee State University. She is an active member of ASHP, the Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA), and Tennessee Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP). She has served on numerous TPA and TSHP committees and is currently the Chair of the TSHP residency advisory committee. She has served as a consultative surveyor for ASHP for several years. She has completed numerous research projects, presented several posters, and is a published author. She is a two time Preceptor of the Year for The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. She is a graduate of both the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Academy and most recently the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Institute.
