Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist/Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice

Dr. Kari Taggart PharmD, BCCCP currently serves in a 50:50 joint clinical faculty role. She is currently a critical care clinical pharmacy specialist and the PGY2 Critical Care Residency Director at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in addition to being an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice for South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. Dr. Taggart graduated from South Dakota State University and went on to complete a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Avera McKennan. Her most recent committee involvement includes the ASHP Section Advisory Group for the Section of Pharmacy Educators Collaboration between Health Systems and Academia, as well as the SCCM Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Patient Safety Committee. Dr. Taggart's research and interests focus around medication safety, process improvement, and simulation in teaching.
