Kalin Clifford, PharmD, FASCP, BCPS, BCGP is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Geriatrics Division at Texas Tech University Health Sciecnes Center School of Pharmacy. He received his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He went on to complete a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Columbus Regional Hospital and then completed a PGY-2 Geriatric Pharmacotherapy Residency from the University of Maryland. Dr. Clifford is also recognized as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist as well as a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist. He actively practices at the North Texas VA Health Care System in Dallas, Texas in the sub-acute rehab unit where he performs antimicrobial stewardship in addition to his consultant pharmacy responsibilities. Through his precepting achievements, he has been recognized as a Faculty Preceptor of the Year in 2015.
Dr. Clifford has presented multiple presentations for the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists Annual Meetings, including a presentation regarding antimicrobial stewardship and managing extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) urinary tract infections. He has also presented at the Texas Society of Health System Pharmacists and discussed specific principles regarding treatment and diagnosis of ESBL Urinary Tract Infections. He has recently presented at the Metroplex Society of Health System Pharmacists on Sepsis in Older Adults. Through his work, Dr. Clifford has been Honored by ASCP as a Fellow in 2021.
