Mark H. Siska R.Ph., MBA/TM is the Chief Pharmacy Informatics Officer at the Mayo Clinic. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Illinois, College of Pharmacy in 1980, completed his Hospital Pharmacy Practice Resident training at Mayo Clinic Rochester in 1981 and earned his MBA in technology management from the University of Phoenix in 2007.
Mr. Siska is a leader in healthcare, healthcare information technology, pharmacy practice & informatics for over 42 years. His experiences include both clinical and administrative roles at the Mayo Clinic Hospitals in Rochester MN. As healthcare organizations began implementing significant health information technology (HIT) initiatives, Mr. Siska directed his attention to pharmacy informatics. He is the past chair of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists Section of Informatics and Technology and recipient of 2010 American Society of Health System Pharmacists Distinguished Service Award for the Section of Pharmacy Informatics & Technology, Board of Directors Distinguished Leadership Award in 2018 and ASHP fellow in 2020. Mr. Siska led the development of ASHP’s Statement on the Pharmacist’s Role in Pharmacy & Clinical Informatics and co-authored the technology briefing paper for the Pharmacy Practice Model Summit in 2011. He has authored and presented on a number of healthcare IT and pharmacy informatics related topics and has served on several Healthcare IT advisory committees and task forces.
