Kayla has over 15 years in various pharmacy settings including retail, inpatient, specialty, and 340B. Through her various roles, one thing has remained the same, she is a leader and advocate for the pharmacy profession and her patients. Kayla is an asset to every team she has worked with by providing training, resources, and leading many projects to enhance the pharmacy work environment and provide optimal patient care.
While at University of Missouri Health Care (MUHC), Kayla has received a Role Model Award (2016/2018), as well as a "Yes" Moment Award (2018). A “Yes” Moment Award is awarded to those that, during a single event, embrace MUHC’s “Culture of Yes” mindset that puts YES at the core of everything to make lives better. A Role Model Award is for those that deliver the Culture of Yes to patients, visitors, and colleagues daily while staying dedicated to MUHC's missions and values.
Kayla is a compassionate pharmacy advocate and has dedicated much of her time to participating in committees that support patients, healthcare colleagues, and communities in rural Mid-Missouri. Some of these committees include MUHC − Staff council, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services − Hepatitis C Stakeholder Workgroup, and Missouri Telehealth Network − Hepatitis ECHO.
