Assistant Dean for Preclerkship Education, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Lalita Prasad-Reddy is Assistant Dean of Pre-Clerkship Education at Chicago Medical School and serves as Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Rush University. She received her PharmD degree from Creighton University, Masters in Health Communication from Boston University, and completed a PGY1 residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center and a PGY2 residency in ambulatory care at Indiana University Health. Her clinical interests include cardiovascular risk reduction, endocrinology, nephrology, and health equity. She manages patients living with chronic disease, including CKD within the disease management clinic at Rush University Internists where she also serves on the Health Equity and Research in Healthcare (HEART) task force. The aim of the task force is to reduce bias in patient-care avenues. In 2020, one year in advance of the NKF/ASN recommendation to remove race correction from GFR estimation, the task force removed race correction within Rush University. She is involved in pharmacy organizations including ASHP and ACCP and serves as the Immediate-Past President of an ASHP state chapter, the Northern Illinois Society of Health Systems Pharmacists. She is the recipient of multiple accolades including the Illinois Pharmacists Association Educator of the year, and received ACCP Fellow Status in 2021. She has a passion for closing the equity gap for patients with CKD by ensuring pharmacists are equipped with the tools to overcome obstacles in providing optimal and patient-centered care.
