Manager of Quality and Accreditation, Specialty Pharmacy

Elizabeth Rightmier, PharmD, BCPS, is manager of quality and accreditation for the Specialty Pharmacy at University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) – Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She completed ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency training at Strong Memorial Hospital. She practiced as a clinical pharmacist in internal medicine and infectious diseases at URMC, Highland Hospital, before transitioning to the specialty pharmacy as a clinical pharmacist on the multiple sclerosis team. In preparation for initial URAC accreditation, she helped form the Specialty Pharmacy Quality Management Committee and served as chair since its implementation. She serves on the ASHP Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners Section Advisory Group on Accreditation and Compliance. She began her current position with a focus on increasing efficiency of the accreditation process, pursuing ACHC accreditation and growing the quality management program. She serves as preceptor to PGY1 Community and PGY2 Specialty Pharmacy Leadership and Administration residents for rotations and research projects with a focus in quality improvement.
