Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Outpatient ID Clinics & OPAT
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
Dr. Mahoney received her PharmD from MCPHS-Boston and completed PGY1 & PGY2 ID residencies at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and Infectious Diseases (BCIDP) and is a fellow of ACCP (FCCP). For almost 10 years she has worked as the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator in Infectious Diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (the official hospital of the Boston Red Sox!). In April 2019, she embarked on an exciting new opportunity to create a practice in the Infectious Diseases outpatient clinic and the OPAT clinic at BIDMC. Dr. Mahoney is actively involved in SIDP, ACCP, ASHP, MSHP (the Massachusetts Society of Health-System Pharmacists, for all you other "M" states out there) and IDSA. She's served as program chair for 7 Midyear sessions, many co-sponsored by SIDP. She has over 40 peer-reviewed publications, delivered over 50 CE presentations, and tweets out numerous fun facts (follow her! @mmPharmD). Most recently, she became an associate editor at Open Forum Infectious Diseases (OFID). Dr. Mahoney precepts 6th year pharmacy students, PGY1 and PGY2 residents, and (physician) ID fellows. Cheesy presentation titles are her specialty and her not-so-secret mission in life is to make OPAT more mainstream.
