HIV Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Dr. Dena Behm Dillon, Pharm.D., AAHIVP, is a specialized pharmacist with a passion for the care of people living with HIV, which she’s had the privilege of doing for over 25 years. She has worked as an Infectious Disease Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at UIHC and as a research analyst at the VA Health Care System in Iowa City, working to set up and research an HIV telehealth clinic. She currently serves as the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the adult and pediatrics HIV Clinics at UIHC, consultant and mentor for Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC), and a provider and Partners PrEP coordinator for Iowa TelePrEP (an HIV prevention program). She serves the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy as Adjunct Associate Professor. She remains active in the Phi Delta Chi pharmacy fraternity where she was recently granted awards for Outstanding Chapter Advisor and Honorary Grand President. Dr. Behm Dillon earned her Pharm.D. degree from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy, then completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, Florida and an Infectious Diseases/Critical Care Specialty Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
