Dr. Dusten Rose is a Network Clinical Pharmacist in Infectious Diseases at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas and the PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency Program Director in Austin. He completed his pre-pharmacy requirements from Michigan State University and earned his PharmD degree from Ferris State University. He completed his PGY1 at Mercy Health St. Mary's in Grand, Rapids Michigan and Infectious Diseases PGY2 at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Following residency, he moved back to the Midwest where he worked as the Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at Indiana University Health. His clinical responsibilities were divided between rounding on the infectious diseases consultation service, maintaining an outpatient practice for HIV patients in the Indianapolis area, and working on several antimicrobial stewardship initiatives. He moved to Austin in 2014 focusing on inpatient antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacist and physician education, and the development of guidelines. He serves as Clinical Adjunct Assistant Faculty with the UT College of Pharmacy and received the 2019 Outstanding Preceptor Award from the College. Additional areas of interest include: HIV, ID in immunocompromised patients, and antimicrobial resistance.
