Dr. Marrs is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant (CHA/PA) Program where he coordinates their pharmacology curriculum. He will join the faculty at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center as a Full Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Sciences in December 2022. He earned his PharmD from Butler University and MPH from the University of Colorado. He completed a PGY1 residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center and a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency at the University of Colorado. He has 16 years of pharmacy faculty and clinical pharmacy practice experience in ambulatory care, with a focus on cardiology & cardiometabolic diseases. He has extensive experience serving as a preceptor for IPPE/APPE students and PGY1/PGY2 residents. He was recognized with the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Residency Excellence Preceptor Award in 2019. Dr. Marrs is a Board Certified in Ambulatory Care, Cardiology, and Pharmacotherapy. He is a clinical lipid specialist designated by ABCL. He is a fellow of the AHA, ACCP, ASHP, and NLA. He is a past chair of the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists (SCCS), past member of ASHP’s Council on Therapeutics, past member of SCCS Educational Steering Committee, and SCCS Cardiology Roundtable Discussion leader. He has presented on several cardiovascular and educational topics at the ASHP Summer and Midyear Clinical Meetings.
