Rohit Soman BS Pharm, MS, BCPS is an accomplished clinical pharmacist with a proven track record in the field of Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases. Rohit received his Bachelor of Pharmacy from The University of Pune, India, and Masters in Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences from The University of Rhode Island. He has worked as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Atrium Health Cleveland for 8 years and then transitioned to Clinical Pharmacist role in Antimicrobial Stewardship Department within Atrium Health. Rohit currently holds Board Certification as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist
Rohit has worked on numerous quality improvement projects within Atrium Health such as successful implementation of vancomycin, aminoglycoside and warfarin pharmacist dosing protocol standardization process, a pilot study of early de-escalation of IV (intravenous) ceftriaxone to PO (oral) cephalexin in susceptible urinary tract infections. He has led several projects including design and implementation of system wide amikacin Non-Tuberculous Mycobacterial (NTM) dosing protocol. He is primarily responsible for the design and maintenance of Atrium Health Antimicrobial Stewardship Internal Website. Rohit has also authored and co-authored numerous publications.
His practice interests include infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship in elderly population, Gram negative resistance, antimicrobial pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic optimization and educating his fellow pharmacist colleagues. He is also passionate about preceptorship and antimicrobial stewardship related project work.
