Director of Pharmacy; Clinical Services and Medication Safety

Kayla Waldron, PharmD, MS, BCPS currently serves as the Director of Pharmacy for Clinical Services and Medication Safety at UNC Health in North Carolina. Dr. Waldron completed her doctor of pharmacy degree at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She subsequently completed a two year health-system pharmacy administration residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center as well as earned her masters of science in health-system administration from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Waldron has held multiple clinical leadership roles for UNC Health, including Assistant Director of Acute and Ambulatory Clinical Services and acute care clinical manager as well as medication safety officer, all at UNC Hospitals. She is presently responsible for the clinical vision and strategy of the organization as well as the medication safety program for the 14 hospital system. Dr. Waldron serves as the founding co-chair for the UNC Health System Clinical Pharmacy Services Committee as well the Executive Sponsor for the Clinical Impact Committee. Mentorship of innovative clinical research projects by Dr. Waldron have further contributed to the pharmacy literature and strengthened the depth of clinical services provided by UNC Hospitals. Dr. Waldron has served on numerous ASHP advisory groups and councils including a term on the New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee.
