The number of Women enrolled in the various segments of the Federal health care system has grown significantly over the past 10 years. Although there are many disease states that are common to both genders there are significant differences that need specialized training, experience and awareness when caring for this cohort of the population. This session will focus on the clinical pharmacist roles in recognizing and managing the unique needs of Women in today’s Health Care Systems.

Learning Objectives:

Discuss history and changes in the Military and Veteran female populations.
Describe Women’s Health Comprehensive Health Care and disparities noted in Women Veterans.
Identify gender-specific and unique needs of Women Veterans including reproductive health and contraception.
Summarize the role of the Women’s Health Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner.
