I am an ecologist originally from El Salvador who is currently working towards obtaining a PhD degree at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. I am interested in understanding more about the mechanisms underpinning the generation and maintenance of biodiversity. Specifically, I'm interested in how biological communities are structured, how their structure varies across broad environmental gradients and how human activity is influencing the structure of natural communities. Additionally, I am interested in how changes in community structure can impact ecosystem processes.
