Alexandra Zvezdin is a masters candidate at Memorial University of Newfoundland, supervised by Dr. Hargan. Her thesis work is centered around uncovering long-term dynamics of a Rhinoceros Auklet colony in Haida Gwaii, B.C. with respect to multiple stressors (human settlements, invasive species, and climate change). This project is possible with the collaboration of Parks Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada, and the Council of the Haida Nation.
Prior to her graduate studies, Alexandra earned a BSc. in Environmental Science from McGill university. During her undergraduate studies she researched green electronics with Dr. Santato (Polytechnique Montreal and the CNRC), and spent some time thinking about Bayesian methods to assess land cover in Google Earth Engine with Dr. Cardille (McGill).
