My work centers on landscapes defined by the human presence — including managed forests, farms, and cities. I draw my perspectives from the fields of biogeochemistry, remote sensing, and landscape ecology, employing computational tools derived from statistical analysis, data science, and GIS. My work is united by the drive to deepen our understanding of how human activities affect ecosystem function, with the goal to better manage and protect the landscapes upon which we as a species depend.
I received my PhD in Earth & Environment from Boston University in 2019. I completed my MS in Forest Soils at the University of Washington in 2010. I received by BA in Anthropology and Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley in 2004.
