I graduated in 1999 from the University Miguel Hernández (Alicante, Spain) with an Extraordinary Award Bachelor of Medicine. After that, I performed the cardiology and imaging training at Vall Hebrón Hospital (Barcelona, Spain). Later, I did a research fellowship at the Department of MRI and Cardiac-CT at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago. Illinois. the USA). I pursued a Ph.D. in CMR at the Autonomous University of Barcelona with the qualification of "cum laude".
Since 2007, I have also been responsible for the education and training of the Residents and International Fellows in the field of CMR and CT at Vall Hebrón Hospital, and, I have also been responsible in all research projects on CMR/CT at our site publishing several papers in different journals with a high impact factor.
I am currently the Director of the cardiac imaging department at Vall Hebron Hospital and Associate Professor at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. I am Secretary of the nucleus of the Working group in aortic diseases and peripheral vessels of the European Society of Cardiology, past president of the Section of the valve and aortic diseases from the Spanish Society of Cardiology, and, past coordinator of the CMR and CT Working Group of the Spanish Society of Cardiology. I am a member of the European CMR board of the EACVI, a Member of the Clinical Practice Committee of the SCMR, and, also, Member of the Registry Committee of the SCMR.
Finally, I have also participated in many important activities for the EuroCMR Section (abstract chair in CMR 2018, program chair at EuroCMR 2019, and abstract chair at next EACVI 2020) and Spanish Society of Cardiology (Scientific Committee of the Spanish Society of Cardiology Meeting, Cardiovascular Imaging Meeting and Iberian Meeting).
