Naïma-Ayane Mahdi is a third-year resident in internal medicine at Université de Montréal. Even as an undergraduate in biology, Naïma has always had a strong interest in cardiology. In 2019 she started a research project on congenital heart diseases at the Montreal Heart Institute under the supervision of Dr. Marie-Alexandre Chaix. This project focuses on the transposition of the great arteries with a systemic right ventricle while evaluating its impact on women's health. Earlier this year, she was granted the Martial Bourassa Prize for the best poster in clinical research during the research day at Montreal Heart Institute. Naïma wishes to pursue her residency in the cardiology field while continuing to participate in more research projects.
