Ping Yu Xiong is a 2nd year cardiology resident at the University of Western Ontario. He completed medical school at the University of Ottawa in 2014. Subsequently he went to Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario for his post-graduate medical training in Internal Medicine. There he met Dr. Stephen L. Archer, Head of Medicine and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair with special interest in oxygen-sensing and development of experimental therapies for pulmonary hypertension. Through the Clinician Investigator Program, Ping obtained his PhD degree in Dr. Archer’s lab studying the changes in metabolism of the right ventricular myocyte using animal models of Group 2 pulmonary hypertension.
