Miles is a fifth year resident in Cardiology at the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the Okanagan Indian Band, whose traditional territory is in the interior of BC. After studying Physiology at McGill University, Miles attended medical school at the University of British Columbia. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at UBC, where he served as the Chief Medical Resident at Royal Columbian Hospital. Upon completion of his training in 2024, Miles will become the first Indigenous cardiologist in Canada. Miles has a strong interest in Indigenous cardiovascular health, particularly with regards to primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease and congestive heart failure.
