Rashmi Nedadur is a PGY5 in Cardiac Surgery at the University of Toronto. She studied and recently completed a Masters in the use of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine in Bo Wang’s Lab at the Peter Munk Cardiac Center. Her Masters was funded by the Surgeon Scientist Program and she has won further funding from the Clinician Investigator Program. She has presented her work at the American College of Cardiology, Bigelow Cardiac Surgery Research Competition and Canadian Thoracic Aortic Collaborative. She has written multiple reviews on the use of AI in cardiac surgery and echocardiography. She also is an active collaborator in multiple other AI applications in medicine, such as in carotid ultrasound and heart failure, that has seen success at large cardiovascular conferences and the TCAIREM Student Trainee Rounds. In the future, she hopes to focus on the use of computer vision in automated disease detection and identification of novel disease markers in cardiovascular imaging.
