Dr. Krystina Lewis PhD, RN, CCN(C) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Ottawa and Affiliate Researcher at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. She leads a program of research aiming to improve patient and health services outcomes using knowledge translation approaches for patients and the public to be engaged in decisions about their health. Her research is financially supported by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, CANet, Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Institutes for Health Research. She completed her PhD (2018) at uOttawa which was supported by a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Fellowship Award and was awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal for Outstanding Dissertation in Medicine, Health Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies in 2019. She is a member of the International Patient Decision Aid Standards Collaboration, the Ottawa Patient Decision Aid Research Group and the Centre for Implementation Research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. She has maintained Canada Nurses’ Association certification in Cardiovascular Nursing since 2010.
