Dr. Dehghan is an Investigator for the Nutrition Epidemiology program at the Population Health Research Institute. She holds two Masters of Clinical Nutrition and Health Research Methodology, and received her doctoral degree in Clinical Nutrition from Newcastle University, England. Dr. Dehghan completed post-doctoral training in Nutrition Epidemiology at McMaster University. During the last eighteen years, her main focus has been the development of methods to measure dietary intake of individuals around the world. Dr. Dehghan is the nutrition lead of the Population Urban and Rural Epidemiological (PURE) study and the INTERSTROKE study. Her main interest is understanding the impact of dietary factors in the cause and prevention of cardiovascular disease and cancer. She has published 71 papers and 2 book chapters.
