David Horne
Dr. Horne is a pediatric and adult congenital heart surgeon at the IWK Children's Hospital & QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, NS, where he is also the Cardiac Surgery Residency Program Director with Dalhousie University. He completed his fellowships at Stollery Children’s Hospital (Edmonton, AB) and Texas Children’s Hospital (Houston, TX). He did his cardiac surgery training in Winnipeg, MB after an 11 year career as family practitioner and emergency department medical officer. He has an interest in pediatric mechanical circulatory support and cardiac surgery education. His passion is doing humanitarian mission pediatric cardiac surgery in Africa, with annual visits to Kenya the last 3 years, and currently working on future work in Rwanda.
