Rob Beanlands is Vered Chair and Chief of the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute; an international leader in cardiovascular imaging and founding Director of the National Cardiac PET Centre; a Career Investigator supported by the Heart and Stroke Foundation(HSF) and Tier 1 uOttawa Chair. His research on cardiac metabolism, flow and cellular function has led to pioneering translational work that has impacted understanding of disease, application in patient care, health policy and guidelines. He has >325 publications. He is President of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and was recently HSFC Scientific Review Committee Chair. Recent Awards include QEII Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012) Society of Nuclear Medicine Research Achievement Award (RAA)-(2013) and CCS RAA (2015). Dr. Beanlands is also the CCS-CIHR Lecturer for 2019.
