Dr. Chris Simpson is Vice-Dean (Clinical) in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University, where he is also Professor in the Department of Medicine (Cardiology) and Professor in the School of Policy Studies.
His clinical and research interests include access to care, medical fitness to drive, atrial fibrillation, cardiac resynchronization therapy and inherited heart rhythm diseases.
Dr. Simpson served as the 147th President of the Canadian Medical Association where he championed seniors care and helped to guide the profession through the national discussion on medical aid in dying (MAID) and cannabis legalization. Other past roles include Chair of the Wait Time Alliance (WTA) along with many agency boards.
He currently serves as Chair of the Health Quality Ontario Quality Standards Committee and was recently elected President-elect of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.
