Adenike Adelakun is a health outcomes researcher who recently completed her MSc degree from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of British Columbia Canada, and obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy training from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She was the best graduating student in her Bachelor of Pharmacy cohort. Adenike has 2 years of experience working in the hospital and community pharmacy setting.
Her interest in research started from her undergraduate degree where she evaluated community pharmacists’ questioning and diagnostic skills for minor ailment complaints by a pseudo-patient, and the appropriateness of medications recommended by the pharmacists. Adenike's MSc research focused on improving the clinical outcomes of patients with atrial fibrillation on oral anticoagulant therapy. Her MSc research involved the use of administrative data, and data from a Delphi study she conducted. During her MSc degree, she got accepted to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Drug Safety & Effectiveness Cross-Disciplinary Training (DSECT) Program. She is currently expanding her career in the pharmaceutical industry field. Adenike loves hiking and DIY home projects.
