Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

discuss emerging evidence in the field of atrial fibrillation.
identify a comprehensive care approach to the management of patients with AF.

trial Fibrillation (AF) is associated with reduced quality of life (QOL), functional status, cardiac performance, and survival. The contemporary management of AF is centered on symptomatic improvement, and a reduction in morbidity, mortality and healthcare utilization. The CCS/CHRS AF Guidelines form the basis for high quality care for patients with AF and underpins the development of best practices.

In this session, members of the CCS AF Guideline Panel will present the recent and upcoming evidence in the field of AF. Specific topic areas may include screening, rhythm management, surgery, stroke prevention, genetic testing in various AF populations. Sex-specific evidence for the management of AF will also be discussed.
