Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

understand the various pathways of engaging in the field of global cardiac surgery in a sustainable, effective, and ethical manner;
recognize prominent existing networks, organizations, and other leaders in the sphere of global cardiac surgery;
identify ways to develop technical and interpersonal skills to engage in surgical collaborations worldwide; and
explore resources and opportunities available to trainees to improve their understanding of and involvement in global cardiac surgery research and practical work.

An expert-led session with Canadian leaders in global cardiac surgery focused on the skills and tools necessary for trainees to provide ethical and sustainable global cardiac surgical care in resource-constrained settings.
