Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

discuss the indications for cardio-thoracic imaging in atrio-ventricular block;
describe the treatment arrhythmias in patients with cardiac amyloidosis; and
recognize indications for ICDs for high-risk nonischemic cardiomyopathies.

The workshop “Relevant arrhythmia topics for the cardiologist” will include 3 case-based presentations and cover the following topics: 1) AV-block in young patient, is there a need for sarcoidosis work-up prior to implant? 2) Arrhythmias in patients with cardiac amyloidosis; 3) ICDs for high-risk nonischemic cardiomyopathies.

Generally, there is a limited appreciation of a rational approach to these particular arrhythmia cases. This workshop will fulfill the learning needs of those seeking a practical approach to these difficult arrhythmia cases. Difficult arrhythmia cases like those addressed in this workshop are a frequent challenge to all involved in the clinical management of patients. This workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive and practical approach to the three above mentioned topics. Workshop participants will also learn how to select appropriate investigations in such cases.
