During her twenty years as a registered pharmacist, Jodie has worked in all facets of the profession including clinical practice, research, project management and education. Throughout her career Jodie has contributed to significant quality use of medicines projects at both state and national levels. Her PhD focused on methods for evaluating the quality use of medicines for Australian aged-care residents with respect to their unique clinical and psychosocial characteristics. She is a pharmacoepidemiologist and is experienced in extracting and analysing large Australian health data sets such as the Medical Benefits Scheme, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, the Aged Care Funding Instrument, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and matched data from the Commonwealth and ISAAC. Jodie is also experienced in project management, systematic literature reviews and consumer engagement. Jodie has published in both national and international peer reviewed journals and presented at numerous conferences. Jodie has a passion for harnessing both qualitative and quantitative information to inform and improve health outcomes for all Australians.
Jodie is currently working on a national grant project which focuses on pharmacovigilance of biologic medicines. This project is developing novel methods for common data models and interpretation of signals.
