Dr. Deshayne Fell is an Associate Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa and a Scientist in the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. She received her PhD in Epidemiology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Fell’s research uses large, linked population databases and birth registries to improve our understanding of factors affecting maternal and child population health, with a particular focus on influenza and pertussis immunization during pregnancy and their relationship with birth outcomes and longer-term safety and effectiveness outcomes. Since 2014, Dr. Fell has been a member of two World Health Organization working groups related to immunization during pregnancy.
