Gianluca Sottilotta is Haematologist at the Haemophilia Centre – Thrombosis and Haemostasis Centre of "Bianchi - Melacrino - Morelli" Great Metropolitan Hospital of Reggio Calabria (Italy). From 2015 he is High Specialist for Hemorrhagic Disease. From 2006 he is consultant hematologist at the Hemophilia Center - Hemostasis and Thrombosis Service of the Hospital "Bianchi - Melacrino - Morelli" of Reggio Calabria. Fields of interest include: diagnosis and treatment of haemophilia and others bleeding disorders; improvement of psycho-social quality of life in haemophiliacs; diagnosis and treatment of thromboembolic diseases; pathophysiology of thrombosis and haemostasis; thrombosis risk factors; pregnancy disorders related to prothrombotic and haemorrhagic defects; anticoagulant therapies; research of natural antithrombotic therapies; discovery of new prothrombotic genetic mutations.
He is author of more than 120 scientific papers, published in National and International Medical Journals. He is also editor and director of the Online Journal of Hematology and Medicine.
